Lititz Christian School is seeking passionate classroom instructors to provide students with appropriate learning tools, activities and experiences designed to assist them in fulfilling their potential for spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Individuals must be proficient in the use of technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process and help students analyze and improve study methods and habits. Individuals are required to assess students regularly in accordance with school guidelines, examine student data, and refine instructional and classroom practices to differentiate instruction as needed.

High School Social Studies and History Teacher
Department: Education
Reports to Assistant Head of School

SUMMARY -Lititz Christian School, a Christ-centered educational community serving students from early childhood through grade 12, is seeking a passionate and dedicated high school Social Studies teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a dynamic learning environment where students can explore history, geography, economics, civics, and world cultures through the lens of a biblical worldview. This teacher will be responsible for preparing students to think critically, engage with the world around them, and develop a solid understanding of historical and contemporary issues that shape societies, all while pointing them to the truth of God’s Word.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
- Design and implement rigorous unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students with clear, standard-aligned objectives and appropriate assessments to gauge student comprehension.
- Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the social studies curriculum.
- Use a range of instructional techniques, such as lectures, group discussions, group work, and hands-on activities to help students understand scientific concepts. 
- Maintain a positive and safe learning environment and manage student behavior effectively. 
- Assess and accommodate students' learning needs and styles.
- Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on student progress and engaging them as partners in their child’s education. 
- Assess student understanding through a range of methods, such as tests, quizzes and projects.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support to ensure academic success.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty and staff to integrate cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades and any disciplinary actions in accordance with school policies.
