In February 2017, I received a text message from American Home Life International.
There was a Chinese exchange student who would be in 10th grade starting in the 2017-2018 school year. My husband Wayne and I have been impacting the world of countless international students in our home since 2011. We don't have kids of our own, so we've built our family unconventionally. We call them our "borrowed" kids. Lititz Christian School has had a tender spot in my heart for a long time. I get to be part of the family as a teacher in the Little Engineers class in the Early Learning Center. I feel that sweet spirit every day when I step into the classroom.
I lean hard on Jesus to give me the ability to plant seeds in the hearts of my little ones. I covet the prayers of the saints for us as we impact the lives of young people for the kingdom of God. When we knew that Adam would be joining our family and Lititz Christian School, I was so excited. I prayed that he would experience the heart and love of Jesus for Lititz Christian School and for himself. I prayed that he would capture what makes Lititz Christian special. The day he walked into the building for the first time, threw his hands in the air and said, "I love this place"; I knew he had already begun to feel the difference.
The Bible speaks in 2 Peter 2:9 about being a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. I believe Lititz Christian is a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. I thank God for His impact on my life, and in Adam's life through Lititz Christian.
To Him be the glory.
