Alissa Winters

After graduating from Lititz Christian in 2014, I attended Grove City College in Grove City, PA. While there, I earned a degree in Elementary Education and took additional classes in psychology, child welfare and social work. I am now teaching at Spotswood Elementary School, a Title I school in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I am a 5th Grade teacher, and love the opportunity to impact my students at such a crucial stage in their lives. I enjoy the balance of teaching them all different subjects as well as the social and emotional skills they need to thrive and overcome their difficult pasts.

While my job is not always easy, I am thankful to have had such a quality education at Lititz Christian that helped me understand the importance of educating the whole child, not just pushing academics. Because I had teachers that cared about me as an individual, not just as a student, I am better able to serve and care for my own students today!  Many of my favorite LC memories include the relationships I built and the family atmosphere of Lititz Christian - cheering on our soccer team, acting in musicals with my friends, having quality conversations with my teachers, and spending a week in Scotland with my class serving the community. These moments - big and small - have shaped how I approach my relationships and experiences today!
